PetVet policies
Review Policy
Reviews are the backbone of PetVet. Pet owners trust them to choose a vet, and clinics earn them one visit at a time. This page explains who can write a review, what we will and won't remove, and how disputes are handled.
Who can write a review
- Reviews require an account with a confirmed email address.
- One review per person, per clinic. You can edit or delete your own review at any time.
- Clinic owners and staff can't review their own clinic.
- Every review is attributed to the account that wrote it. There are no anonymous reviews.
What we remove
A review comes down when it violates any of the following:
- No real experience. The reviewer was never a client of the clinic, or the review describes a different business.
- Conflicts of interest. Reviews written by competitors, employees, ex-employees, or anyone paid or pressured to write them.
- Harassment or hate. Threats, slurs, or personal attacks on staff rather than the care received.
- Private information. Staff members' home addresses, phone numbers, or anything similar.
- Spam and promotion. Links, ads, or content unrelated to veterinary care.
What we don't remove
An honest account of a bad experience is not a policy violation. We don't remove reviews for being negative, for disputing a bill, or for disagreeing with a treatment outcome. Clinics can't pay to remove a review; membership buys tools, never editorial control.
How disputes work
- A clinic owner flags a review from their profile page with a short explanation of which rule it breaks.
- A human at PetVet compares the review against this policy. Clinics can never remove a review themselves.
- The clinic gets the decision by email. If the review violated the policy it comes down and the clinic's rating updates; if it didn't, it stays up.
Reviewers whose review is removed can reply to us at hello@petvet.directory if they believe we got it wrong.
Ratings stay honest
A clinic's star rating and review count always equal exactly the reviews published on PetVet. We never import ratings from other sites, blend outside scores, or filter which reviews count toward the average.
